1965 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MARK 111

This was nearing the final phase for the elegant Austin Healey’s. Fortunately the character remained throughout the improvement process turning the car from a performance sports car with few creature comforts to a high-speed luxury touring car of its day. The pressed steel dash of the original cars gave way to a beautiful wood veneer version along with a handsome center console and the exhaust was finally revised allowing the cars to be driven over something greater than a pebble without scrapping the road. Power was increased with the aid of larger 2-inch SU Carburetors to 150 horsepower from the 3 litre 6-cylinder engine. This car also has the overdrive 4-speed gearbox. The example we have here is one of those great original style cars, having only had two California owners since new. To find Austin Healey’s with such long ownership history is certainly a rarity now. Rust appears non-existent with floors that are amazing as is the trunk, wheel wells and rocker panels. The car has had a street style restoration over the years that included new paint, chrome, new interior and a rebuilt engine. Now the car still shows very well, with a nice very bright and restored look.
Finished in its original Old English White with Red Leather interior and Black convertible top.
